Jesus, the Fulfillment of the Law

Jesus said:

17 “Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill. 18 For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled.

One has to ask the question, what does Jesus mean when He said: ‘to fulfill?’  A definition found in an online dictionary provides insight.

ful·fill also ful·fil  (fl-fl)

tr.v. ful·filled, ful·fill·ing, ful·fills also ful·fils

1. To bring into actuality; effect: fulfilled their promises.

2. To carry out (an order, for example).

3. To measure up to; satisfy. See Synonyms at perform, satisfy.

4. To bring to an end; complete.

So based on this definition we can see that Jesus is saying that the law and the prophets must bring their promises to actuality. Therefore, prophetic prophesy must become a reality and God’s intention for the law, (to make covenant with the people and to dwell with them on Earth) is realized.

The Fulfillment of the Prophetic Promise

What this means is that an order made to deliver something has to be carried out. So when the words of God are delivered by one of His prophets, the fulfillment comes when his statement becomes a reality.

In the case of the law, it is fulfilled when the purpose of the law is achieved. The purpose of the Ten Commandments was to change the behavior of Israel such that would enable them to enter into a covenant relationship with the Father, in which He would be able to dwell with them as He did in the Garden of Eden.

Adam and Eve in the Garden

Adam and Eve in the Garden

The Promises of God must be brought to an end by way of Competition

So, in these two cases, the fulfillment of God promises must come to pass. Therefore, the prophetic message has to become reality. The people’s promise to abide to the commandments delivered by Moses must be achieved.

Those things that once existed in the law for example, must be brought to an end.  Jesus is the fulfillment of the law as He was able to live in accord with the law. Because He lived a perfect life He was able to dwell on Earth with men, being God and therefore fulfilling the promise of the law and the Mosaic covenant.

Moses and the Ten Comandments

Moses and the Ten Comandments

For those who believe in Him He is the fulfillment of the Tabernacle’s function and purpose. He has fulfilled the rigid rules of the law by simply commanding us to love on another as He loved us. He has fulfilled the blood sacrifices for the forgiveness of sin with the blood sacrifice of His own body and blood. For those who believe in Him, He has fulfilled the Mosaic covenant with the New Covenant of His body and blood.

God gave Moses the specifications for building the Tabernacle and therefore it was built in accord with a heavenly model.

Jesus, Moses Discuss the Fulfilment of Tabernacle Prophesy

Jesus, Moses Discuss the Fulfillment of Tabernacle Prophesy

As such it has to also be fulfilled in the life and words of Jesus. In addition, the portion of the law that provided guidance for the priest who provided services at the Tabernacle who also have to be fulfilled as well. In fact, every component and every object found in the Tabernacle must have their promise fulfilled in the life of Jesus. In thinking about the Tabernacle in this way we see it as a prophetic blueprint for the future. This blueprint when fulfilled results in God dwelling with men in such a way that all of its functions, purpose, and attributes of it are realized. The good news is that Jesus fulfills all of these conditions and we therefore can validate that He is the Christ.

This web site goes into great detail demonstrating this truth by referencing scripture. Go to our home page (https://possessthevision.wordpress.com/) to access the index into our writings on these subjects.

The Way to the Father is Through the Spiritual Tabernacle Called Jesus

In our previous posting we look at the parables of Jesus and gained insight into the fact that we can better understand these analogies of Jesus by looking for a spiritual interpretation of them. This principle provides the critical foundation necessary to answer a number of questions I have received from readers. To review our posting that delves into this subject in more detail, please follow this link:  The-Messages-of-Jesus-are-Understood-by-the-Spiritual-Interpretation-of-His-Parables

Questions About the Tabernacle and the Claims of Jesus

This postings is just one in a series of communications that are designed to address a number of questions we referenced above. These questions ask for authoritative scriptural references that support the proposition that Jesus is proclaiming to be the fulfillment of the Tabernacle when He stated, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. (John 14: 6.) These questions also ask for scriptural references that support the proposition that the entryways into the Tabernacle are called the Way, the Truth and the Life.

In addressing these requests the establishment of a scriptural foundation is required, that is best provided in a line upon line fashion. Our first posting (link identified above) started the building of that foundation and we continue to build upon it here. All of this is necessary to provide the insight that many of our readers are asking for.

Jesus is the Fulfillment of the Tabernacle

We start by taking a look at the cornerstone of the questions above, namely, the Jesus, “I am…,” scripture:

“Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also. And where I go you know, and the way you know.” Thomas said to Him, “Lord, we do not know where You are going, and how can we know the way?” Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. (John 14:1-6)

Now in our last posting we learned that: All these things Jesus spoke to the multitude in parables; and without a parable He did not speak to them (Matt 13: 34.) Since the parables of Jesus are spiritual references delivered by way of analogy to worldly things, we should start by looking for a real world object that will help us understand the spiritual truth of Jesus. In other words, we need to find the real world analogy that Jesus is referring to when He states; “I am the way, the truth, and the life No one comes to the Father except through Me?” Well, since Jesus and all the disciples were Jews, one must consider that their worldly view would have been that the only way to the Father was through the Tabernacle.

The Glory Cloud Covers the Tabernacle

The Glory Cloud Covers the Tabernacle

The following scripture validates this statement:

17 “You shall make a mercy seat of pure gold; two and a half cubits shall be its length and a cubit and a half its width. 18 And you shall make two cherubim of gold; of hammered work you shall make them at the two ends of the mercy seat. 19 Make one cherub at one end, and the other cherub at the other end; you shall make the cherubim at the two ends of it of one piece with the mercy seat. 20 And the cherubim shall stretch out their wings above, covering the mercy seat with their wings, and they shall face one another; the faces of the cherubim shall be toward the mercy seat. 21 You shall put the mercy seat on top of the ark, and in the ark you shall put the Testimony that I will give you. 22 And there I will meet with you, and I will speak with you from above the mercy seat, from between the two cherubim which are on the ark of the Testimony, about everything which I will give you in commandment to the children of Israel (Exodus 25: 17-22.)

Priest Before The Ark Of The Covenant

Priest Before The Ark Of The Covenant

In this scripture Moses has recorded the words that God gave Him on the mountain top. In it God communicates with him about how the Most Holy Place (the innermost chamber of the Tabernacle) is to be furnished and arranged. What is clear from reading this scripture is that the Father intends to communicate with Moses from this specific area, deep inside the Tabernacle, as the Tabernacle was built to be the place where God would dwell with man on Earth.

Now, if Jesus was communicating a spiritual message by way of parable in John 14: 1-6, and we know that without a parable He did not speak to them (Matt 13: 34), then the Tabernacle had to be the only possible analogy of His parable. This is true because His dwelling there was a part of Israel’s covenant relationship with the Father.

Moses and the Ten Comandments

Moses and the Ten Comandments

Also, by association, if Jesus is claiming that He is the only way to the Father, and the Tabernacle was their existing way to the Father, then not only is Jesus claiming to be the fulfillment of the Tabernacle; but the terms, the Way, the Truth and the Life, must somehow refer to the pathway through the Tabernacle as well.

To add some support to these conclusions, lets look at John 14: 6 once again: “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me (John 14: 6.) The word “through” is very important as it gives us a sense that we enter into Jesus at a certain point, and then pass “through” to the other side of Him, where we then come into the presence of Father. This adds support to our case as this is precisely the structure of the Tabernacle built in the time of Moses. At that time the tribes of Israel aligned on all sides of the Tabernacle. There was an entryway that lead into what was called the Outer Courtyard. In the middle of this courtyard was a tent like structure that was called the Holy Place, and it also had a single entrance. The inside of the Tabernacle was divided by a curtain and the area behind the curtain was called the Most Holy Place where the Father dwelt. By the way, this curtain or veil as it is sometimes called, is the same one that was torn in two at the time of the death of Jesus on the cross. In any event, what we see here is that there is a pathway to the Father defined here, and interestingly, there are exactly three entryways that must be passed through to get to the Father. Could these be the spiritual Way, the Truth and the Life that Jesus was referring to? More details on this will be coming in future postings.

The Chanbers of the Tabernacle

The Chanbers of the Tabernacle

So, at this point we have correlated this parable of Jesus to the Tabernacle. We have seen that there is substantial evidence supporting such a proposition. But the Tabernacle is an Earthly object and since we view the words of Jesus as parables, then we must look for a spiritual interpretation, especially since a purely physical interpretation seems unrealistic. So, at this point one has to ask if there is scriptural support for a spiritual Tabernacle? A Tabernacle that resides in a spiritual place like heaven, because if there is, then that scripture would validate much of what we are presenting in this post.

Jesus, the Spiritual Tabernacle

Here is an authoritative scriptural support for a spiritual tabernacle in heaven:

Then I, John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God (Rev 21:2-4.)

the bride of christ

So, this is what Jesus was talking about. The disciples did not know this at the time as the revelation did not come to John until many years after the death, resurrection and the ascension of our Lord into heaven.

In our next posting we will attempt to dig deeper into the correlations between John 14: 1-6 and Revelations 21: 2-4 and find further strength to support what we have presented here today. We will also take a closer look into what is meant by the Way, the Truth and the Life.

Until then, may all of God’s blessings be upon the readers of this post!

God Wants to Dwell with us!

This posting is the first of a series of communications that look at the actions of God that have repeatedly resulted in the creation of opportunities for Him to dwell with His people. In this regard we see that He created the Garden of Eden expressly for this purpose.

The Garden Of Eden

Later, He instructed Moses to build the Tabernacle to bring His people into closer relationship with Him.

The Glory Cloud Covers the Tabernacle

God then sent His Son who lived with us on earth. He established a new covenant that included a promise that we all have the opportunity to dwell with Him forever in paradise.

Jesus Arises to Heaven

Jesus Arises to Heaven – Mansions in the Background

We initiate this new section because we believe that the actions of God reveal His love for us. The actions of God’s people to His direction are prophetic of the walk of the Christian nation today. We believe that the prior actions of God and His people are often predictors of what is to come. Therefore, we believe that they are prophetic messages are applicable to every church, ministry and individual seeking to carry on the ministry of Jesus. We hope to be able to demonstrate this as we move forward.

Today we start at the beginning in the book of Genesis with the creation of the Garden of Eden, (a place where God could dwell with His people.) I have attached Genesis: 2 (from biblegateway.com) to allow the reader to see what God created for man:

2 Thus the heavens and the earth were completed, and all their hosts. 2 By the seventh day God completed His work which He had done, and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had done. 3 Then God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, because in it He rested from all His work which God had created [a] and made.

4 [b] This is the account of the heavens and the earth when they were created, in the day that the Lord God made earth and heaven. 5  Now no shrub of the field was yet in the earth, and no plant of the field had yet sprouted, for the Lord God had not sent rain upon the earth, and there was no man to [c]cultivate the ground. 6 But a [d]mist used to rise from the earth and water the whole[e]surface of the ground. 7 Then the Lord God formed man of dust from the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living [f]being. 8 The Lord God planted a garden toward the east, in Eden; and there He placed the man whom He had formed. 9 Out of the ground the Lord God caused to grow every tree that is pleasing to the sight and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.

10 Now a river [g]flowed out of Eden to water the garden; and from there it divided and became four[h]rivers. 11 The name of the first is Pishon; it [i]flows around the whole land of Havilah, where there is gold. 12 The gold of that land is good; the bdellium and the onyx stone are there. 13 The name of the second river is Gihon; it [j]flows around the whole land of Cush. 14 The name of the third river is [k] Tigris; it [l]flows east of Assyria. And the fourth river is the [m] Euphrates.

15 Then the Lord God took the man and put him into the garden of Eden to cultivate it and keep it.16 The Lord God commanded the man, saying, “From any tree of the garden you may eat freely;17 but from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not [n]eat, for in the day that you eat from it you will surely die.”

18 Then the Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone; I will make him a helper[o]suitable for him.” 19  Out of the ground the Lord God formed every beast of the field and every bird of the [p]sky, and brought them to the man to see what he would call them; and whatever the man called a living creature, that was its name. 20 The man gave names to all the cattle, and to the birds of the [q]sky, and to every beast of the field, but for [r]Adam there was not found a helper[s] suitable for him. 21 So the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon the man, and he slept; then He took one of his ribs and closed up the flesh at that place. 22 The Lord God [t]fashioned into a woman the rib which He had taken from the man, and brought her to the man. 23 The man said,

“ This is now bone of my bones,

And flesh of my flesh;

[u]She shall be called [v]Woman,

Because [w]she was taken out of [x]Man.”

24  For this reason a man shall leave his father and his mother, and be joined to his wife; and they shall become one flesh. 25  And the man and his wife were both naked and were not ashamed.

From all of this we can say that it was God’s desire to have a place for us to live that was filled with all the good things that man needed. A place where God the Father could dwell with us and develop a relationship with us. God gave us a purpose and gave us dominion over everything in the garden. It is obvious from all of this that God loves us and wants to dwell with us forever in this paradise. This scripture tells us that this paradise is the end result that God wants for all of us. Even now, He is leading us to choose the Tree of Life (His Son Jesus) so that we can obtain this destiny.

The Ascension of Jesus

Further proof of God’s desire to restore the the Garden of Eden for us is found in the 21st chapter of the book of The Revelations of Jesus Christ:

21 Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth; for the first heaven and the first earth passed away, and there is no longer any sea. 2 And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, made ready as a bride adorned for her husband. 3 And I heard a loud voice from the throne, saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is among men, and He will [a] dwell among them, and they shall be His people, and God Himself will be among them[b], 4 and He will wipe away every tear from their eyes; and there will no longer be any death; there will no longer be any mourning, or crying, or pain; the first things have passed away.”

Therefore, this current environment that we live in pass away and God will once again create a new place for us to dwell with Him, exactly like it was in the beginning. People who take up their cross for Jesus can become a part of the New Jerusalem that comes down from heaven as a bride. Jesus is the Tabernacle of God (see the-tabernacle-is-prophetic-of-jesus) who then dwells among men.

So, as we stated in the beginning, the scriptures taken from Genesis are prophetic of the actions predicted in the book of Revelations. We can believe that this is true because of the other  attempts to do this are recorded in the Bible. Certainly, the Tabernacle was built to be a place where God could dwell on earth with man (the-tabernacle-is-prophetic-of-jesus.) Ultimately, Jesus came and dwelt with us on Earth. Therefore, the prophetic value of the scriptures pertaining to God’s desire to be with us is confirmed. As a result, we can have confidence that the promises of God’s continued efforts will be in our future.

The Morning Star Rising on the First Day

The Books of Moses and the Future of Christianity

Today we are starting a new section that will take a look at the actions of God and His people that led to the building of a place where God could dwell with His people. This place was the Tabernacle that was built to the exact specifications that God the Father delivered to Moses.

Jesus and Moses at the Transfiguration Discuss the Fulfillment of the Tabernacles Prophesy

We initiate this new section because we believe that these actions of God and His people (the ones that were recorded in the books written by Moses), are prophetic of the walk of the Christian nation.

The Ark Brings Down the Walls of Jerico

We believe that these prophetic actions are applicable to every church, ministry and individual seeking to carry on the ministry that was started by Jesus, and we hope to be able to demonstrate this as we move forward.

We believe that this is the case because the premise identified above is simply an extension of the prophesies of the Tabernacle, a topic that we have already covered extensively in this web site (https://possessthevision.wordpress.com/). If this is your first time here, we should say that our previous work revealed that the Tabernacle to be a prophetic model to guides our path toward building closer, more intimate relationships with God. For example, we are initially lead into a relationship of grace in which our sins are forgiven and we change our nature by integrating the words and actions of Jesus into ourselves (the baptism of the word of God – The-tabernacle-courtyard-is-prophetic-of-jesus-a-review). We then are led into a relationship of empowerment where our pathway is illuminated, we achieve a familial relationship with the Father and we are empowered for spiritual warfare by the Holy Spirit through prayer. If we can achieve this level of closeness to God, then He may lead us into an relationship of covenant with Him. There we will talk to God face to face, see His provision at a supernatural level and see our ministry lead His people into the spiritual Promised Land.

Jesus is the Light of the World

With all of this said, it is our hope that the coming investigative work will reveal even more insights into how to further direct our steps toward God. I hope you enjoy the work that is to come.

Jesus the Alpha and the Omega

 Jesus and the Tabernacle

It all started with my decision to learn everything I could about Jesus. The motivating force was a genuine desire to develop a more intimate relationship with Him. I wanted to know everything that I could know so that I could better understand who He is, so that I could model my life after His in every way possible.

My search to know Jesus started with an examination of the bible. I read the bible and then prayed and meditated about what I read. I did this for an hour a day for more than ten years. During that time I read the bible cover to cover twice. I also read the new testament more than five times, and individual the books that really talked to me, even more. Through this practice God gave me insight into so many things about the spiritual realm and Jesus. My heart yearned for the truth and God revealed the truth to me.

However, after I was about half way through this ten-year exercise I encountered a mystery. There were two statements that Jesus made that I was puzzled over. The first statements is:

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. John 14:6

Jesus is the Light of the Wordl

This statement was an attempt to communicate to His disciples who He was and what His attributes were. While there were some clues in the passage to reveal what Jesus meant, I felt that the answers were vague. The way to where exactly? The truth about what? What life was He talking about? These are generalities and wanted to drill down and know the details. I wanted to know more as this verse certainly hinted that there was more to learn about Jesus.

In second scripture that wanted to drill down on was as follows:

He said to them, “This is what I told you while I was still with you: Everything must be fulfilled that is written about me in the Law of Moses, the Prophets and the Psalms.” Luke 24:44

The Transfigured Jesus With Moses

The Transfigured Jesus With Moses

Again, I wanted to drill down to find more details about Jesus. The problem was that I could not recall reading any comments about Jesus in the books of Moses. So, thinking that I missed them somehow, I decided to read the five books of the bible that are attributed to Moses again. This time however I would examine every line with the sole purpose of identifying the prophetic things that Moses wrote about Jesus. incredibly, reading these books provided no additional insight.  I knew that this could not be but was not quite sure how I could have missed something as large as this.

After praying about this for quite some time the truth finally came to me. Jesus was the fulfilment of the Tabernacle of Moses and the laws concerning the royal priesthood of Aaron. Now it all made sense! The Tabernacle was the way through which God would dwell with His people here on earth. It was God’s covenant promise to the people of Israel, who in turn promised to obey the Ten Comandments. So when Jesus stated that everything that was written about Him in the books of Moses must be fulfilled, he was claiming to be the fulfilment of the Tabernacle, the place where God would dwell with His people on earth. He was proclaiming the dawning of a new covenant, one that was a far superior to the old covenant in every way.

With this new revelation I started to put all of the pieces information together. I then remembered that a deacon from our church once told us that the names of the Tabernacle doors were; the Way, the Truth and the Life. I wondered why I had not made that connection before. Once again, Jesus was proclaiming to be the fulfillment of the Tabernacle when He stated that He was the Way, the Truth, and the Life. So these two statements were tied together in this way.

Jesus, Moses and the Tabernacle

This discovery was the start of a wonderful journey as I set my sights on Jesus and the Tabernacle, and what I learned was monumental. For example, I learned that the attributes and functions of each and every artifact in the Tabernacle was fulfilled in the life of Jesus. This fact is supported by the words Jesus spoke about Himself and the actions that Jesus demonstrated.  More importantly, these words and actions were reinforced by the miracles that directly supported what Jesus did and said.  The conclusion to all of this is that Jesus is the promised one of God and He is the Christ because He is the perfect fulfilment of the Tabernacle. He fulfills the prophesy of the Tabernacle in that He supplants each and every object inside the Tabernacle. This proof is very complex and lengthy indeed, and so we will put it off to another time. What we will focus on in this document is the second discovery attributed to all this research and prayer.  Something that I have never heard discussed in any Christian church that I ever attended.

This discovery is that there are three levels of relationship that man may have with God, and these levels of relationship will determine how effective your individual ministry will be on earth as well as your final resting place in heaven. Paul once spoke about the third heaven and in doing so revealed that he had achieved the closest of all possible relationships with God. There is much to say about all of this and so I am going to put all of this proof untill the next time.

God bless,

Read the truly amazing life story about how the forces of good and evil battle over a man and the vision that God gives him. Joseph W. Gordon’s Possess the Vision (Xulon Press, $12.95, 140 pages, ISBN 1-59781-205-6) tells about the mysterious spiritual experiences that occur throughout his lifetime.

THE GOLDEN BOX

One day my wife told me about a dream of hers. In the dream, we were on a stage with Johnnie and Wanda. I was wearing a graduation cap and gown and was holding a golden box. I was apparently very proud of it because it had been a gift from Johnnie. However, she did not know the location or the reason we were there. This led to much speculation about what all of this might mean. So, we waited in anticipation for this special occasion to transpire but nothing happened. The golden box has remained a mystery to me until now.

After thinking about it for a while, I recalled a time when the four of us went to a Christian conference. It was the second day of the conference, and the pastor was closing it with a prayer. He asked everyone to join hands and Johnnie happened to be sitting next to me. As he prayed, I felt electricity flow up my arm from Johnnie’s hand. When the prayer was over, Johnnie asked if I had felt it. I said that I had, and we both looked at each other in amazement over what had just occurred. That was it. We left the conference together, and we never talked about the incident again although I certainly had received something from Johnnie that day.

In another instance, Johnnie shared with us that God was leading him to write a book. He had a yellow tablet in his hand that contained a five-page outline for the book. As I looked it over, I marveled at its completeness and organization. It inspired me, and I thought to myself that I should be doing this as well. God was talking to me again, but I just did not get it nor did anyone else for that matter. Before we left California for good, Johnnie met with me to tell me that in a spiritual sense he had already given me the box. I suspect that God must have told him to deliver this message to me even though Johnnie most likely did not know what he had given me. When he delivered the message, I thought that he was just embarrassed and wanted to bring the subject to closure. I went along with him because I did not want it to be a problem for him. But at the time, I still did not believe that he had given me anything.

It is funny how writing my book, “Possess the Vision,” has opened my eyes to what had previously been hidden. Johnnie had given me the golden box after all. If you have not already guessed, you are reading a part of it right now. He had placed in my heart the desire to write this book. It is a box because it contains an accumulation of the truth that God has shown me over the years. It is golden because it is valuable to those who read it. Thank you, Pat, for the prophetic message of the golden box. Thank you, Johnnie, for doing the will of God and for giving me a most precious gift.

GOD LET ME KNOW THAT HE WAS GUIDING ME

In our previous posting we communicated a message that came from a prophet of God (Prophesies-of-Provision). No one was more shocked about the outpouring of God’s word through this man than me. To start with, the man read my private mail in front of everyone in the church. There was no way that he could know about the battles I had at work, the pressure I was under, or the recommendations that were being rejected by the executive team. Not to mention what my wife said to me late at night, or even that I had a study in my home. How could he know about my struggles at work or the breakthroughs that would happen as the projects on my desk were implemented? There was no way that he could have known about me marveling at the speed of my own fingers as I typed responses to emails at work, because I never told this to anyone, not even my wife. This man was delivering a message hot off God’s printing press. There were so many other things that were true as well—like God leading us and planting us at our church and opening a door for us to support its ministry. The prophetic message was very profound. It dawned on me that God was talking to me again. He was with me.

Looking at this prophesy from the vantage point of “possessing the vision” is amazing. It confirmed that God sent us to this church. It indicated that God would deliver favor, bring wisdom, and direction.

It communicated that God would uproot the thorns and the briars. Could these things be needed for anything else? This prophesy also referred to the favor of Joseph and Jacob. This is the earth changing kind of favor necessary to deliver the intentions of God. The kind of favor that God had previously granted throughout biblical history. The favor necessary to save the people of His promise.

All of this started with my surrender to God. Then there was the vision God gave me of the world blooming into a beautiful flower (Surrender-is-Followed-by-a-Glorious-Vision). Then the mystical series of events leading to my job change and relocation to California where this message could be delivered to me (Gods-Plan-Begins-with-Blessings). Wow! But the there were many messages yet to come. You will hear more in my next set of postings.

PROPHESIES OF PROVISION

Our past set of postings has proposed that a universal technology be developed and deployed with the purpose to unite and empower Christians around the world. This technology is to be built and established by Christians for Christians. It is designed to help usher in the kingdom of God by supporting the growth and development of all Christian churches, missions, and peoples. It is to be a tool to enable Christians to proclaim the truth of Jesus Christ more effectively and, in so doing, become more fruitful as a people. Fundamentally, this technology is to be a tool to help Christians work together in the ministry of improving the world around them; by helping the poor and disenfranchised better take care of their families.

With this being said, God started to talk to me about His provision and support for the vision through the prophetic. This started one Sunday when a visiting pastor pulled me out of the congregation and gave me a message from God that was so accurate that it could only have come from God. The things that he told me were not only incredible but they revealed things that only I could have known. I was in awe of the words that he spoke. Here is what he said:

Tonight you are going to get a breakthrough. It has already started—it has already started. God has blessed you. Your mind is so sharp. It is so keen. It is so precise. Your memory, your retention, your energy for detail, it is so right there. But, the enemy comes at you. I am going to tell you something. You could see success in so many different ways. But, I want you to understand something. God has a success plan for you in your spiritual walk. He has planted you in this church. He has planted you within this ministry, and God is going to use your life supernaturally. The Lord said some things are going to begin to happen down in your spirit, and it’s going to be greater than any day that you have ever beheld before. But brother, sometimes the thing gets so heavy. You just feel like a weight is on your head. You get under so much pressure. You get under so much stress, and you say, “I can’t take this.” And the Lord said I am going to open up the anointing to your thoughts. This thing is going to lift. This thing is going to be destroyed, and you are going to begin to relax.

I look at people, and I don’t know anything about you. I do know one thing though. I know your name is Joe because you have it on your name tag. But Joe, I’m going to begin to turn some things into the hands of an almighty God. And the Lord said, whatever your hands do is going to begin to prosper. There is going to be a loosing of the blessing of God upon your life greater than you have ever known before. There is favor that is coming upon you in the corporate structure greater than you ever thought could happen. The Lord said, that you thought to yourself, “God, if I am what You want me to be I am going to get persecuted.” Oh, son, don’t judge that to be the truth. Judge this to be the truth: with anointing comes favor. I am going to give you favor like I gave Joseph. I am going to give you favor like that of Laban when he looked at Jacob and said, “I have been blessed because you have been with Me.” And the Lord said, “I will give those over thee an understanding that you bring favor, you bring wisdom, you bring direction.” And the Lord said, “I see the circumstantial struggles. I see the battles in your midst. I see even an individual that has stood against thee and has fought thee in the steps that you have been taking.” But the Lord said, “I will pull the teeth right out of the mouth of the lion. I will mute the voice of the devil. And you shall sound like a trumpet. You shall be heard in high places and it shall bring results.”

He continued prophesying: Oh my, I see a report. I see something lying on your desk. I see it is like recommendations. The devil is saying this isn’t going to fly. And the Lord would say, “Read about Joseph. You’ve got that kind of favor.” And the Lord said, “You know how I guided you, and you know how I directed you. And, you know that I have given you the insights that I have given you. I am going to cause favor to come upon you. And, son, you have not ever asked Me for promotions. You’ve not asked Me for raises. Oh, but son, don’t be surprised when they come, don’t be surprised when they come. Because you’ve sown seed and you have trusted Me, and, you’ve said, ‘God I just want to do what you want me to do.’” “And, I would say, I will uproot. I will uproot the thorns. I will uproot the briars. I will cause the fir and the myrtle tree to flourish because My Word will not return void”, says the Lord of hosts. “And, I would say, I have seen you as you have sat at your computer. I have seen you as your fingers have moved across the keyboard faster than you have ever watched your hands move before because I was putting the thoughts and directions into your mind. I know they have to do with carnal things, son. But it has to do with the fact that I put you where I have put you to let the glory of God shine.” And the Lord would say, “I have seen you, even in the early morning hours. I have seen your wife when she has come into the office and into the study of your home and said, ‘Honey, it’s late. You’ve got to come to bed and rest.’ But, I kept speaking concerning the natural but yet the supernatural is on it. Son, know I am with thee. Be not troubled. Be not distressed. Be not worried. For the glory of God is upon thee”, says God.

I take this prophetic message to mean that God was intending to support the development of a strategic technology to be a delivery system through which His love can flow. In my next posting I will get into the details of this message and why it was so profound.

Development of Course Ware in Support of Universal Christian Education

A few weeks ago we recommend that the universal Christian Community work together toward the deployment of a Christian Educational system. This system could be available to anywhere in the world by leveraging existing computer, communications and software technology.

A key component of all of this is the development of educational content. Content will be the very heart of the product that is to be delivered to the poor and disenfranchised peoples of the world. This course ware will be developed by Christians from across the world and then donated as a gift to all peoples of the world. In addition, processes will be established that enable continuous improvements to the course work as is appropriate. Educational materials will also be modularized such that good material can be reused in future course ware development.

The course ware will be displayed in a multimedia format much like television but will also have interactive components as well. Therefore, this material will require the interactive participation of subject matter experts to address student questions and needs for support. A major portion of this support is to come via on-line television that connects the student to the teacher via the Internet. The thought here is that subject matter experts can be made available much easier when travel and residency outside one’s native country are not a requirement. This strategy will also be very useful in areas of the world where Christian persecution is a problem.

For cases where the physical presence of a subject matter expert is required, the recommended course of action will be to use local people who are trained to accomplish this mission. So, while I expect that there will be some cases which will require the physical transportation of subject matter experts and teachers, in all cases a plan to transfer this capability into the hands of local people must be carried out. Therefore, train the trainer programs will be developed to achieve this objective and in some cases practical experience must be achieved by transporting people to the host country.

In summary, the computer systems, networks and course ware will support existing missions with the capability to improve the living standards of the peoples of the world, while also spreading the word of Jesus where it is currently absent. They will be a demonstration of the love of the body of Christ for all people. It will help them be self sufficient, not relying on the handouts of others but rather instilling in them the confidence of their ability to adequately care for their families and lead their respective communities.

Undertaking such an initiative will require a tremendous amount of work. But we already have a treasure of religious educational services in place. Certainly there are educational programs deployed for child education that includes K-12 courses. There are religious colleges that specialize in both contemporary as well as religious programs. There are seminaries and religious programs designed to prepare people for ministry. There are also existing audio/visual materials that are teaching programs, bible studies and religious education. These are the places to start because much of the material is available, well though out and proven to be effective. The work to be required would be to transfer this existing material into a form where it can be made available to others through the facilities we have been talking about.

One of the benefits of participating in such an effort is that there are several positive effects of developing such subject matter. First of all, it would enable these school systems to deploy this material in their own schools. This would provide teachers with a wealth of material to integrate into their own curriculum’s. This can provide the benefit of reducing the amount of time invested in developing this teaching material from scratch. This in turn could free teachers for other necessary activities like providing personalized tutoring, grading exams, preparing for future lesson plans or administrative paperwork.

The material developed for online course work can also be used by new teachers to reduce their class ware. In addition, since the material will be modularized, there will be times when pieces of material from one course can be reused. In such cases teacher productivity is improved. Other productivity improvements will also be provided such as self grading tests, templates for lesson plans, and student collaboration.

THE CORE BELIEFS OF A CHRISTIAN MINISTRY

In addition to the core values of a Christian Ministry (as presented in our last posting,) core beliefs are an integral component of our values. These fundamental beliefs are the basis of our ability to work together in ministry. They are the core commonality of our faith and of ability to work with Christians in multi-denominational ministries (like we discussed a few postings ago.) Like core values, core beliefs also serve to constrain our partners in ministry to people who are aligned on the fundamental principles of Christianity.

The following list reflects our core beliefs:

Jesus is the Son of God, and that He came to earth to tell us about the Father and to demonstrate His love for us.

Jesus heals the man at the pools.

His love was manifest in the sacrifice of His life on the cross, which was offered up for the forgiveness of our sin.

Jesus Sheds His Blood on the Cross

He defeated evil in His resurrection from the dead.

Jesus at the Tomb

He ascended into heaven where He is our advocate with the Father.

The Ascension of Jesus

He has sent us His Holy Spirit to enlighten our path and empowers us for spiritual warfare.

The Baptism of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost

The enlightened path of the Holy Spirit will lead us to the Father who will be faithful in His covenant promises to those who are steadfast to the end.

Of course, it would seem to me that the Nicene Creed serves this purpose very well as well. I know that it is used by many of our denominations as well and so I will provide a copy here for your reference.

We believe in one God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and of all things visible and invisible.

And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only-begotten Son of God, begotten of the Father before all worlds, God of God, Light of Light, Very God of Very God, begotten, not made, being of one substance with the Father by whom all things were made; who for us men, and for our salvation, came down from heaven, and was incarnate by the Holy Spirit of the Virgin Mary, and was made man, and was crucified also for us under Pontius Pilate. He suffered and was buried, and the third day he rose again according to the Scriptures, and ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of the Father. And he shall come again with glory to judge both the quick and the dead, whose kingdom shall have no end.

And we believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord and Giver of Life, who proceedeth from the Father and the Son, who with the Father and the Son together is worshipped and glorified, who spoke by the prophets. And we believe one holy catholic and apostolic Church. We acknowledge one baptism for the remission of sins. And we look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. Amen.

We as Christians, therefore, should unite on these core values and beliefs by sharing what we have with the world. More specifically, we must share our knowledge, skills, and know how. To use an old analogy, we must teach them to fish rather than simply giving them fish. This being the case, we must proceed hand in hand toward the development and use of technologies that enable us to work together more effectively (presented previously.) In walking together in this way, we will demonstrate the love we have for our brothers and sisters in the world, and we will be doing what Jesus would have us do—have compassion on the poor and hungry.
