The Tabernacle Is Prophetic Of Jesus
The Tabernacle was built to be the earthly abode of God: the place where God would dwell among His people. The following diagram is a reproduction from the following web site: Diagram of the Tabernacle, Basic Layout of the Moses tabernacle. By clicking on the preceding hyperlink you will be able to see what the Tabernacle looked like. The Following picture also communicates how it may have really looked.

The Tabernacle
Moses built the Tabernacle in strict conformance to the specifications given by God. For example, in the following scripture God gives Moses a detailed list of items that are required to build the Tabernacle:
Then the LORD spoke to Moses, saying: “Speak to the children of Israel, that they bring Me an offering. From everyone who gives it willingly with his heart you shall take My offering. And this is the offering which you shall take from them: gold, silver, and bronze; blue, purple, and scarlet thread, fine linen, and goats’ hair; ram skins dyed red, badger skins, and acacia wood; oil for the light, and spices for the anointing oil and for the sweet incense; onyx stones, and stones to be set in the ephod and in the breastplate. And let them make Me a sanctuary, that I may dwell among them. According to all that I show you, that is, the pattern of the tabernacle and the pattern of all its furnishings, just so you shall make it.” (Exodus 25:1-9)
Statements like this one are frequently found in the scriptures written by Moses. Many of these references emphasize building of the Tabernacle precisely to God’s instructions. This fact suggests that the form and content of the Tabernacle is extremely important to God; that perhaps it is designed on a heavenly model, one that will enable Him to dwell among His people. If this is the case, then the Tabernacle must be prophetic of the Christ who would also come to dwell with God’s people. Over the centuries the intention of God to dwell with His people did not change as even today, He continues to strive to restore the relationship man lost with Him at the fall. Therefore, the scriptures that define the specifications, processes and objects found in the Tabernacle reflect the will of God to abide with us, and as a result, must also be applicable to the attributes, words and life of Christ who was sent to accomplish God’s intention.

The Ascension of Jesus
We are going to look at the Tabernacle scriptures as they are prophetic of Christ. If Jesus is the Christ then the attributes and characteristics of the Tabernacle must be clearly demonstrated in His words and deeds. What we are about to reveal is that there is a precise correlation between the Tabernacle and Jesus. It is for this reason that we will use the scriptural specifications for each component of the Tabernacle to prove that Jesus is the Christ. In the process we will also uncover many hidden attributes of Jesus that will serve to help us better understand His nature.
Remembering that Jesus claimed to be “the Way, the Truth and the Life”, we look at the diagram found at (You ARE the Temple of the Holy Spirit) to find that these names (the Way, the Truth and the Life) are used to identify the entryways into the three major compartments of the Tabernacle. The Way leads us into the Courtyard, the Truth leads us into the Holy Place, and the Life leads us into the Most Holy Place. It should also be noted that the Tabernacle is constructed in such a way that these passageways must be entered in order. The Way must be entered prior to entering the Truth, and the Truth must be entered prior to entering the Life. This significance will be discussed latter.
So, what we find here is that the words of Jesus have led us to the Tabernacle. His claim is that He is the passageway into the three compartments of the place that God designed to dwell with His people here on earth. Therefore, our plan is to investigate each of these three chambers in an effort to identify what it is that He is leading us toward. What we will find is that Jesus is drawing us into a closer relationship with God. He is drawing us toward Him by showing us that the Tabernacle because tells us about Him. Jesus knows that in doing this we will grow and strengthen our relationship with Him. What we are about to discover is that the Tabernacle structure will communicate that there are three separate and distinct levels of relationship that we can have with God. In addition, these relationships can only be obtained by passing through the doors of the Tabernacle in the prescribed sequence. In fact, we will develop a progressively deeper relationship with God as we enter each successive chamber to find the gifts that God has waiting for those who seek Him with all their heart.
While all of this is quite mysterious at a high level, we plan to present the details in subsequent postings. For now we will present a high level overview of our journey through the Tabernacle and its correlation with the life of Jesus. With that said let us start with the Tabernacle Courtyard.

I so enjoyed your sight!

Since the Jews came out of Egypt and the Egyptians wrote under a dipiction of Horus that he was the tabernacle, the truth the way and the light, does this mean Jesus was predicted that far back in a likeness of a Egytian God. I also noticed that the birth of Horus was like the madonna and Jesus. The pyramid fresco was dated to two thousand bc.
Thanks for the comment. I have no idea about the history of all of this. In my quest to better know Jesus I was led to the Tabernacle and it has enlightened me considerably. He has not communicated any of the above to me. Sorry, I can not help you here.

Hi. I’m fascinated that the gate was called “The Way,” the door was called “The Truth,” and the veil was called “The Life.” I’m wondering where you got this information. I’m not doubting you. I just know my kids will ask, and I would like to validate your information. Thanks!
Originally from a Catholic Deacon who picked it up in seminary. Latter, in a number of postings on the internet such as the following: http://www.tgm.org/TempleInWildernessFloorPlan.jpg
I know that there are more but I have provided this one for your reference. I hope this helps.
God bless,
Papa Joe Gordon
Hi, our church was wondering if we could use some of your images (1 was the ‘the-full-tabernacle6’ ) for a teaching set we will be selling on the tabernacle. Please let me know if we have your permission, or if there’s a fee, and keep up the good work!
Sorry, but I do not own them. I recommend that you go to Google Picasa and search for them there.
Good luck in your efforts.

What is the diffrence between holy place and most holy place
Both are chambers inside the Tabernacle Tent. Only a priest could enter into the Holy Place. This chamber contained the Golden Lampstand, the Table of Show Bread and the Altar of incense. These objects are symbolic of enlightenment, relationship with the Father, and empowerment over the forces of evil via prayer. Therefore, the Holy Place is a place of enlightenment and empowerment. The Most Holy was the chamber where the presence of God dwelt. It could only be entered by the High Priest and only once each year. It contained the Ark of the Covenant, the Mercy Seat and the Cherbum. All of this represents the covenant between God and His people, including dwelling in the presence of God. Therefore, the Most Holy Place is a place of covenant with God. There is a veil between the two chambers that is also called the Life. This is the veil that was torn in two when Jesus died, signifying that this chamber is now open to all. For more information on all of this please follow the hyperlinks in the right hand section of this blog. You can start with the Holy Place of the Tabernacle and Jesus is the Life.
i enjoy your site so much. even what I thought i knew you have taken to another level. visuals are a good source of info as well. thank you for broadening my understanding.

I very much appreciate your kind words.
Thanks you and may God bless all you do,

Dear Joe:
The Tabernacle of Moses is one of the most complete plumblines in the Word of God. I have used it for over 40 years to illustrate the truths of the Word of God. I find that all that is truth can be found in type and shadow in the Tabernacle of Moses. Jesus is there in awesome detail as well and the full plan of God for man.
Bless you,
Dr. Wm. J. Hurst
I could not agree more. Thanks for your comment. It is very appreciated.
May God’s blessing be upon you and your family.

Dear sir,
We serve an awesome God. God bless.
Douw Nortier.
I haven’t read the entire thing, but I just wanted to make a quick observation before I forget…you said “The Way must be entered prior to entering the Truth, and the Truth must be entered prior to entering the Way.” did you mean prior to entering the Life? at the very end? it may be insignificant, but some people may be confused. Thank you and I will continue to read 🙂 God bless you
Yep, your right. Thanks!
The fix has been made.
I appreciate your commet.

i would like to let you know that Saddleback church is doing something called the tabernacle expierence. It is a life size replica of the temple and it is interactive, you are guided by an audio tour that is given to you and it is free to attend. I am a junior higher that goes to a christian school and i just had a feild trip there. I actually really enjoyed it, through the whole tour it showed how jesus was prophezused and shown through the expierence. It was really amazing because it is interactive so they have incense you can use and you can light the lampstand, and put ood on the altar and watch it burn as a symbolism of your prayers being drifted into heaven. They even have a replica of the ark and you get to go into the most holy place and it is amazing. i am recommending this tabernacle expierence because it travels all over the country and is a beautiful picture of how blessed we are today. thank you for your time. ~hope
thanks for the enlightenment
GOD BLESS YOU FOR THE EXPOSURE PF THE TRUTH.
Thank you. Most insightful. Brilliant pictures.
It is very good to see and to know how Jesus life, death, and resurrection was shown in the Old Testament and what it means today.
Thank you for presenting this. Greg Morgan
