Jesus Gives His Life for OthersJesus Gives His Life for Others

Jesus did not come to be worshiped or exalted, but rather, to give His life in saving others. For Jesus, this pathway let to everlasting life, glory and honor forever. Therefore, the life and actions of Jesus are our road map to finding everlasting life, glory and honor. The following scripture supports this proposition:

Then He said to them all, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me. For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will save it. For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and is himself destroyed or lost? For whoever is ashamed of Me and My words, of him the Son of Man will be ashamed when He comes in His own glory, and in His Father’s, and of the holy angels.” (Luke 9:23-26)

Each one of us must ask ourselves: “What is our cross?” Giving up His life was the burden that Jesus carried to redeem us from sin. He lost His life initially but latter saved it for al eternity. He initially died in achieving his mission but got it back by rising from the dead and ascending into heaven where He lives forevermore at the right hand of the Father. This is exactly the way it will be with us. If we seek to save our life here on this earth we will loose our life in heaven and die the second death. If we seek to do the will of God and in this process we deny our life here on earth we will save our life forevermore in heaven.
