Jesus Follows YouJesus Follows you into Ministry

It is very interesting that in the bible passages where Jesus sends out 70 of His disciples

(see  Jesus Provides All We Need ), that He sent them to the very places that He Himself would follow. All of us should understand that Jesus will also send us to proclaim His truth prior to His support of the ministry He has given us. It is only after we have stepped out in faith that Jesus comes in the form of the Holy Spirit to empower us over the forces of evil and to enable the accomplishment of all that God has asked us to do. It is through the power of the Holy Spirit that men can clearly see that the deeds performed are not those of man but of God. It is in this manner that God gets the glory that He truly deserves. After all, we know that without God we can do nothing. Remember the verse about the vine:

I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. (John 15:5)

The key point is that ministry must be about Jesus and not about us. It is not our ministry but His. We are simply His agents designated to finish the work that He started. Our ministry and our lives therefore become a focus on Him. Our part in ministry is to step out in faith and to live as purely as we can. His part is to reinforce our efforts with signs and wonders through the power of His Holy Spirit.
