The Choice of Jesus is the Choice of Love

The world is a stage on which we demonstrate our choices befor God. God stopped eternity for a “Time,” to give us the opportunity to choose our fate for eternity. In addition, things are no longer easy like they we in the Garden of Eden, where the perfection of God was everywhere and all choices were good but one.

Today our choices are much more difficult as the situation is reversed from what it was in the garden. Today, God’s perfect creation is continuously being destroyed by the activities of man. In our world the knowledge of evil is all around us and there are seemingly limitless opportunities to do evil. We have only one good choice and that is the Tree of Life, Jesus Christ. It is up to us to choose what is good and reject what is evil. Therefor, do we choose to love or to hate, reveal the truth or tell a lie, save a life or to kill, be a friend or an enemy, help others or help ourselves, live for God or server the devil? We demonstrate these choices every day to God.

Our choice to live for Jesus is the difficult path, the road less traveled. It is a difficult path because the world does not understand this way of living any more than the darkness can comprehend light. This path is a genuine search to find a closer relationship with God. It demonstrates a desire to walk on the pathway that leads to His door, to do God’s will, to attempt to become like Him, to know Him and have a personal relationship with Him. This pathway is a choice of pure love.

In developing a love relationship with Jesus we will become one with Him, as a bride in marriage to her husband. Our life here on earth is to prepare the way for His return in a similar way to John the Baptist, who prepared the way for the first coming of Jesus.

So we will proceed on the track of seeking Jesus throughout our subsequent blogs. In them, we will seek to enable you to become more like Jesus by providing you a deeper understanding of who He is. We will present a model of Christian living that will challenge you and help you compare your life choices with those of Jesus. This model will guide you toward a better insight to the actions of Jesus, the associated supporting actions of the Father, the empowerment of the Holy Spirit and the ministry of His angels.

As we move forward, we will come to know the steps necessary to move closer to Him. We will learn that there are levels of relationship that we can have with God and we will come to understand why they are important in achieving what God has asked us to do. I hope that you will join me as we proceed in seeking Jesus with all of our heart, with all of our mind, with all of our strength and with all that we are.
